Upgrading your Tropofy Installation

The Tropofy Platform consists of the Tropofy Server and a Tropofy Compute Node running an app. The Tropofy team are constantly working on both the Tropofy server and the the Tropofy compute node package to improve the overall Tropofy experience. The Tropofy server is managed independently by the Tropofy team, but a Tropofy compute node could be managed by you a Tropofy developer. The following shows how to update a Tropofy compute node:

  1. First ensure your prompt is using the virtual environment into which you installed Tropofy, assumed to be tropofy_env below:

    On windows:

    c:\>Path_to\tropofy_env\Scripts\activate

    On Unix

    $ source path_to/tropofy_env/bin/activate

  2. Upgrade your tropofy installation by running the following command. This does not touch any data stored in any of your apps’ databases:

    On windows:

    (tropofy_env) c:\> pip install tropofy --upgrade

    On Unix

    (tropofy_env) $ pip install tropofy --upgrade
